The Zanussi ZWi71201WA built in washing machine boasts no less than 21 washing programmes. These include a special programme for your curtains and even one for jeans! It has woollen cycle, delicate cycle and standard cycles for cottons. It also has an option to steep stubbornly soiled items which could be handy for sports kit etc. For most fabric types there is a pre programmed cycle giving you the correct temperature for that type. The machine has variable spin speed as well as variable temperature settings.
This model has a tamper proof child lock for safety which is always re-assuring if you have a young (and inquisitive) family. The control panel consists of a dial and buttons with LED display. The display will countdown to the end of the cycle leaving you free to manage your time. It also has a 24 hour time delay function meaning you can set the machine to switch on at a time that suits you for example at night to take advantage of cheaper deals on electricity at night. It features fuzzy logic which means it has sensors to judge the size of your wash load and so only use the correct quantity of water. It is cold fill only which also means only the minimum amount of water is heated for additional energy savings.
This appliance has a 7 kg drum which means you can fit in a duvet or 35 T-Shirts – which should be more than adequate for couples or families. The unit has a strong, wide-opening door which helps to avoid accidents when you are trying to load a heavy armful of towels for example.
This Zanussi washing machine has an A++ energy efficiency rating (which is only one notch off the highest possible rating) and is cheap to run at £32.40 a year (based on 15p a kilowatt of energy). The build quality is good, as you would expect for a machine at this price point.
Zanussi is a reliable brand and a few buyers said they were replacing their previous Zanussi washers which had lasted 10 years plus – which has to be a good sign. This is an integrated model meaning you can attach your own kitchen fascia door to blend into your kitchen’s lines. Some buyers said this can be a little tricky to attach, but most found it manageable without a needing the help of a joiner. All-in-all this model (although relatively new) is proving popular with buyers and seems meet their needs and expectations.
