Indesit IWME147 (Discontinued)

Sorry, the Indesit IWME147 has been discontinued by the manufacturer

This great value built in Indesit washing machine features a 7kg drum and 1400 rpm spin cycle at top speed meaning your clothes will need less drying time. It is very reasonably priced for an integrated unit at around £302 and has an energy efficiency rating of A+ meaning savings on your fuel bill too.  It’s fairly quiet to run registering 81dB on spin cycle. The machine uses approximately 261.8 kWh of electricity a year. The dimensions are; height 82.0 x width 59.5 x depth 55.0.

The Indesit IWME147 has a selection of programmes and interestingly (and possibly uniquely) features a sports programme – one for heavily soiled sports clothes and one especially for training shoes. Beside the wool and delicate cycle there are 3 quick cycles of 50 mins, 40, mins and 30 mins for quick washes and emergencies such as tomorrows’ school uniform or work blouse.

This Indesit has dials and LEDs which may take a bit of getting used to when programming the machine. Some buyers have suggested keeping the manual in a handy place for reference. One potential drawback, according to customer reviews, was that it was hard to see the markings on the dials well, so some resorted to marking them on themselves (not ideal but at least it is an integrated unit so this won’t be visible to visitors etc). One customer was disappointed to find that you couldn’t adjust the spin speed as this is programmed into the machine according to the cycle you use. We really don’t think this would be an issue for most people however.

Customers were, on the whole, pleased with this machine saying that the quality build was better than they had expected and adding “why would you buy a more expensive machine when this meets all your washing needs?” Customers also said that, should you need Indesit parts for repair, they are readily available and relatively inexpensive.

To summarise, it seems the only real flaws may be a slightly hard-to-read dials and programming takes a little time to figure out, but on the plus side you get a well-built integrated unit (for which you always pay more) with a 7kg drum at a budget price which will be great for families who will appreciate the larger wash load capacity.

  1. Why o why Indesit did you make it so difficult to adjust the height using the extender legs ??
Just fit the longer legs as standard fit . Surely this would be more cost effective as well .
